The challenge
Investing in new technologies can be challenging for managers in enterprises, as project failure can mean certain death to ones career. Due to this, managers tend to go for low-risk project where investments are small and technological uncertainty are kept at a minimum. This has caused investments in IOT for manufacturing has seen low attention due to its intransparent cost structure and blurry benefits. My solution seeks to create a more transparent cost structure both for investing in the technology and investing in consultancy for implementation of IOT within manufacturing.
The solution
By creating a network with IOT companies and technology consultants, I want to create a transparent leasing solution for creating small "proof-of-concept" projects that can easily be implemented and prove potential upsides that businesses will see if investing in IOT within manufacturing. The solution will be a leasing solution where the client will have the possibility of purchasing the IOT equipment after a proof-of-concept has been made. This significantly reduces the cost up-front for the client and is also beneficial to the IOT companies, as their reach will increase.
